Personalising Santa Bags, Stockings and Seasonal Fabric Gifts
Choose and apply the correct printing method to Santa bags, stockings, hats and other seasonal fabric products.
What you need
- A seasonal fabric blank
- Sublimation, HTV or ready-made DTF transfer suited to the material
- Heat press and clean protective paper
- Pressing pad and lint roller
Step-by-step
Read the product label
Identify the fibre content, printable panel and any heat-sensitive trim or lining.
Choose the printing method
Match sublimation, HTV or DTF to the colour and fabric rather than treating every seasonal item the same.
Prepare the design
Mirror when required by the selected method and size it away from seams, cuffs and decorative trim.
Protect the item
Insert clean paper, move ribbons or fluffy trim away and raise the printable area with a pad.
Apply the design
Follow the selected transfer and blank supplier’s time, temperature, pressure and peel instructions.
Cool and inspect
Allow the item to cool flat, then check every edge before packing or filling it.
Common problems
| Problem | Likely cause | Try this |
|---|---|---|
| Design does not show on dark fabric | Sublimation ink is transparent | Use HTV or DTF |
| Pale line near seam | Contact is uneven | Use a pressing pad |
| Trim is damaged | Heat reached a sensitive area | Move or shield all decorative parts |
Colour and material rule: Sublimation ink is transparent and does not print white. Dark blanks are unsuitable, and the blank’s colour will show through the design. Always test first on gold, silver, metallic or other coloured blanks
