Step-by-step
1
Measure the printable area
Keep important artwork inside the flat printable centre and allow for the curved rim.
2
Inspect and clean
Check the coating for marks, remove dust and avoid touching the printable face.
3
Position the design
Centre the print face-down and secure it so it cannot slide.
4
Protect and support
Use clean protective paper and the correct support for the plate shape.
5
Heat the plate
Follow the blank and equipment supplier’s recommended starting settings.
6
Cool safely
Use heat protection and allow the plate to cool on a stable heat-safe surface.
Common problems
| Problem | Likely cause | Try this |
|---|---|---|
| Faded rim | Poor contact on the curve | Keep key artwork in the flat centre |
| Off-centre image | Design moved during positioning | Mark the centre and secure the print |
| Cracked plate | Thermal shock or excess pressure | Use approved blanks and allow gradual cooling |
